Recent work
There are aspects to my work that are obvious and simple but also ambiguous and complicated. The obvious and simple is often related to my method of making which adopts an underlying grid structure, a landscape, a domestic view from a window. What is ambiguous and complicated in these images are the musings and underlying choices of 'why' at each point of the process. The meaning is immanent, introspective and personal. Often my paintings hint of an interior, such as a window frame or the suggestion that the view is from a moving car. These are keys or clues of being in an intimate interior, looking out from these safe places, and the feelings, memories, conversations and mood of the interactions of these places become attached to these views.
I am currently working towards a solo exhibition at Montsalvat scheduled for early 2016 and a group exhibition at Maroondah Art Gallery in October 2015.
