LOCKDOWN IN & OUT

2020 - 2021
Anna Farago, Greenhills Neighbourhood House & Watsonia Library community members

Late in 2020 as we were was coming out of the strict Covid-19 lockdowns, Anna had onsite conversations with Greenhills Neighbourhood House Community members and invited Watsonia Library visitors to creatively share their experiences. During workshops the responses of images and words were screenprinted onto fabric that had been botanically dyed with leaves and bark from Andrew Yandell Reserve and the Library Community Garden, and denim jeans sourced from local op-shops. The large flags installed as bunting in the library , and banners in the Greenhills windows can be viewed from both inside and outside.

This public artwork is a reminder of the reflections made about the importance of care, community and connections during the lockdown and in life moving forward. The questions remain relevant as reminders of what we learnt or can continue to reflect upon during our time in lockdown:

What helped you during lockdown? What did you miss?
